"Any form of art is a form of power; it has impact, it can affect change. It can not only move us, it makes us move." - Ossie Davis

Our Mission

We believe in the power of art as a catalyst to unite, inspire, heal, and create positive change in the world. Our mission is to harness this power by connecting international, national, and local artists with communities in Ecuador to work together to beautify public spaces with visual art. Through this process of creative collaboration, both the artists and the communities they work with learn about each other's cultures, attain new skills, form new friendships, and gain valuable life experiences that they will carry with them forever.

We are dedicated to promoting equity in the arts by curating diverse teams of artists that include women, artists of color and indigenous artists to participate in each project. We also make it a priority to select artists that have demonstrated a dedication to social justice, education, youth development, and/or activism in their art practice.

Our Goals

Aside from creating inspiring public art that beautifies and brings joy, color, and creativity to the streets; gives residents a sense of ownership of their public spaces while creating a platform for them to celebrate their history, identity, and culture; we hope the process of creating these murals also generates a space and opportunity that encourages cultural exchange, self expression, camaraderie, healing, empowerment, and unity.

Cultural Exchange

Generate encounters between the community, the artists, and travelers in which each one experiences and learns about the customs, history, language, gastronomy and culture of the other.

Build a bridge between local, national, and international artists and provide a space for them to exchange skills, information, and culture; Create a global artistic community that continues to grow and collaborate well beyond the Fiesta de Colores.

Tap into the therapeutic, cathartic, and curative powers of art; utilize art as a tool to process traumas, start conversations, and relieve stress.

Share our skill sets with people and provide them with the tools and agency to design their own public spaces. Utilize art as a vehicle for expression and communication to empower and give voice to the community.

Utilize the cathartic and unifying power of art and collaboration as an “ice-breaker” and glue to bring neighbors together, create lasting bonds, and strengthen the community through unity.

Generate an interest in art and promote artistic development and creativity through encounters with high-level artists and exposure to quality works of art.
